This year, our startup WhomLab was selected to join a prestigious business accelerator in Switzerland. Some of the founders are from Harvard, MIT.. through them, I am privileged to get to know the amazing solutions that are coming in the next few years.
The rise of Femtech is one of the most notable changes. Startups are tackling the gap in healthcare research and solutions designed specifically for women, which we desperately need. Breakthroughs in telemedicine that will empower women to manage reproductive health, burnout, anxiety, and a long etc are going to change how we see and approach health sooner than we think.
One of the main challenges for female founders is the lack of funding. Only 2% of the total capital invested goes to female founders. If your startup is building innovative technology then it’s close to zero. That is the case for many of us, female founders.
For example, we are building a technology to assess and train leadership skills using an innovative gamified approach and for us, it is easier to get clients than investors.
As long as there is a lack of funds and support, the gap in health and women-centered innovation will not be closed.
The only way forward is to bridge the funding gap. To have more women on the other side, the investors’ side, and in positions of power. Women-led and women-focused impact investing is still in its infancy but growing strong.
With my startup WhomLab, we help companies get ready for 2026 when the female leadership quotas in the EU will come into place. We are helping companies identify talent for both female and male allies.
We hope to get many investment groups as clients so that we can help them grow the next generation of female senior investors and with them, bring that ridiculous 2% to a fair 50%.
