Most significantly I have noticed that women are more informed and more easily able to discuss menopause and the related symptoms. When I first presented the use of HRT to menopausal women, they had no idea of the benefits of HRT and were fearful as a result of the false perception that it would cause cancer.

Empowering women with information about sexual health – providing young women with the confidence to talk about it and not hide away as women of my age have done; allowing women to lead the studies into women’s health – for too many years, men have dominated the pharmaceutical and medical fields in this arena – with no understanding of what women endure; proper focus on women’s health by pharmaceutical companies – there is inadequate development in this space.

Professional women should demand change – we have taken a back seat and we need to challenge this.
